These are the same fungi taken 24 hoours later than the ones I posted yesterday.
yesterdays photo

I thought I would share the growth and death of these fungi, I just hope they are there tomorrow so I can do another posting.

You will notice on the left is a new pair. I thought I'd include them in the shot to add the contrast of 24 hours aging.

Species: Coprinus micaceus
Has a creamy or fawn cap with glistening particles over the surface on young fruit bodies. These disappear or wash off with age.

Common Name: Mica ink-cap, Glistening ink-cap
Found while walking in village on lawn
Substrate: Grows from wood in clusters
Spores: Black
Height: 100 mm
Width: 50 mm
Season: Any time of the year after rain.
Edible: Unknown

I had to use a flash today as it was raining and there was very little light.

PP. I used photoshop to crop slightly, frame and resize.

WOW Sue, Look at your mushrooms. All grown up and all. Well done on this shot. Makes a nice story. Is it "Cream of Mushroom" soup tomorrow ??

This looks like a little village with thatched roofs. Wonderful display Sue, and the difference between the old and new in such a short time is amazing. Well done.
I must go out looking for some fungi one day.

A very nice shot Sue,
Excellent composition and POV with good sharp detail.
Great use of the flash too,its brought out the details nicely with no 'burnt out' areas.
Well done.

Life of fungus is very short. Excellent two-picture presentation Sue. Very good composition and quality.

Very interesting to see the progression - the mushrooms are also interesting to look at, but the best thing is to see what nature can do even in only 24hrs! Great idea, very effective.

Hi Sue,
Amazing transformation in 24 hours. Nice colors and very good detail. Your flash worked very well on this shot. It highlighted the small water droplets nicely.
