[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While out on a photography walk I came across this fungi caught in a spiders web. Not quite, But by the looks it has grown up through the spder web. It was growing at the base of a Rimu tree in New Zealand native bush.

I liked the light how I was shining on the part of the fungi emerging from the web.

Sorry Don't have the ID of the Fungi.

I used photoshop to raise the light slightly as it was quite dark.

A rushed weekend critique I'm afraid,
Great capture Sue, thanks for posting.
Have a great weekend

Hi Sue, this is an interesting photo. The fungi looks like something out of a science fiction movie (like alien flesh or something), and I find myself wondering what the spider looks like that built the web. It's amazing what spiders can build. Very well photographed and a very interesting subject. Thanks for sharing it!

I thought it was an underwater shot first when I saw the thumbnail! But no, it's a cobweb. Good find Sue.

Hi Sue... what an unusual sight; good find! It took me a moment to see exactly what was happening (your note helped too). I also wonder about what kind of spider built such a strong web. The twisting of the fungi catches my eye. Nicely done :-) Thanks for sharing this unsual bit of life!

Hey Sue,

This web looks like a blanket. Well done on the shot. It's an interesting old thing about life --- one day you're on top and then you're not ...

Hi Sue

Nice capture. I am pleased the spider isn't there. Nice colour combinations. Good detail and clarity. Excellent light. Thanks.

Hi Sue! I do not have the time to write a decent comment. I give to you the well deserved smiley.

The paths are not to be found, but made.
And the activity of making them, changes both the maker and their destination. "
