Hi Janice
No, not much you could do about the over cast sky. Nicely composed and I love the rich green and the road weaving through. Only nit is it appears to be out of focus. Great note. Thanks.

Hi Janice,
A road I would love to travel. Since joining this site NZ has moved up much higher on my vacation wish list. Beautiful!

Great shot of the forest there Janice. Was this from a moving vehicle then? Not sure about the PP but still a nice shot. TFS!

Nice shot Janice,
On a clear day, with a beautiful blue NZ sky, this would be a stunning capture. As already mentioned, I'm usnsure of the PP, but still a nice shot.
Thanks for posting.
This is something like dream to me - to have got this kind of road nearby :-) So green, full of tropical palms and plants! Asphalt road isn't disturbing to me - it made great contrast between nature and human civilisation. Great picture.
Hi Jancie,
this is a lovely picture, even if it is a little out of focus. The composition is really good with the road bending around the corner. This photo reminds me of Lamington National Park in Australia, with the lush rainforest and winding roads.
I see you've mentioned the Kauri tree. I came across a Queensland Kauri (Agathis robusta)the other week. It had some interesting cones and was really tall. I posted a photo of the cones on TN (http://www.treknature.com/gallery/Oceania/Australia/photo31251.htm) Do you think it is related to the New Zealand Kauri?
Thankyou for sharing you photo.
Kind regards,
Claudia
This picture makes me remember a lot my trip in New Zealand down in 1992... We were in Auckland and drove one day 1100 km total to go and see the King of the Forest, the giant Kauri tree !!! I remember that the roads were just incredible and fully loaded of giant ferns on each side like your picture.
Thanks for the memories

I like this shot very much, Janice, even if some parts look blurred (it might be raindrops on the lens more than oversharpening). The luxuriant vegetation contrasts very much with the small road. It's a bit of an oppressive feeling. I like your framing with the road in a "s" shape. Lot's of atmosphere.
