we were in taupo thus w.e. and we did not get a better view than that! ;)it needs to be a bit more sharpness maybe, but still a nice photo.

Hi Tony,
wow what a view! The road adds depth to the foreground and is also well positioned so it doesn't intrude too much into the landscape. Nice light on the peaks too, good exposure.

Hi Tony, it's a good view, but you have too many 'jaggies' - see the white lines on the sides of the road. That might be caused by how you resize your photos. Next time don't leave so much sky in the photo - if you cropped some off we could then concentrate more on Ruapehu.
You were lucky - it was a great day to be able to see the mountain so well.

I wouldn't mind winters like this, with snow in the mountains and otherwise not, hehehe...

It really seems like you can see where the top of this mountain blew off in the past. It reminds me of Mt St. Helens. I think the image is excellent. Well done.

Simply outstanding! What a view! Beautiful to say the least. Amazing details and the low hanging clouds do present a fine effect. Great exposure on the snow laden mountain and I like the road leading the eyes to it. Excellent POV to portray this majestic scene and very nicely composed. Kudos.

A superb moutainscape! The craggy white slopes contrast beautifully with the blue of the sky and the brown of the vegetation!

I like the misty layer which gives it a more etherial quality

Just can't get enough of the beautiful scenery of your country....quite amazing how diverse it is.It is definately on my list of places to visit.The view of the mountain is just breathtaking and the effect of the whispy cloud is nice though maybe obscurring in places.I may have chosen less sky lowering the angle to give more depth but still a lovely image.....TFS.
