| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Lake Rotoroa is located close to the centre of Hamilton City and has a surface area of about 54 hectares. It has a maximum depth of six metres and an average depth of two metres.
Lake Rotoroa is the largest of three lakes within Hamilton City. The lake catchment is urban, with a mix of residential housing and recreation reserve. Lake Rotoroa is used for a variety of recreational activities including:
* yachting
* dragon boating
* walking.
This photograph was taken shortly before dozens of baloons took off on a beautiful Waikato morning as part of the Balloons Over Waikato festival.

Hi Scott,
The colors and the lighting in the righthand two thirds of this image are gorgeous. The burned out parts, in my opinion, overpower that beauty. I wanted to see if there would be enough left for an interesting composition if those parts were cropped out. See Workshop.

Hi Scott.
I know this place very well.(I did a lot of tripping here when I used to live in Hamilton ;)
Some of my earlier shots were taken here.
There are some very tame Pukeko around the lake,as well as an interesting variety of exotic bird life.
Its good that you can't see the houses too much.
Thanks for posting.
Steve.
