The zebra has very good eyesight during the day and night. They have binocular vision in the front and can probably see in color. They also have excellent hearing that can detect very distant sounds. Their sense of taste is also quite keen. They can detect slight changes in the quality of their food.

HI Pam,
This is very arty, you have brought out the eyes into sharp focus against the stripes, yet i think id prefer a vertical crop on this one.

Hi Pam,

A different view of this pyjama cladded donkey. The kind of information you provide in your note is what I enjoyed most. It is info that is not common knowledge. The photo is technically very well done.

Hi Pam

What an original composition! I love it!
The full-frontal POV is exceptional and the shallow DOF that keeps only the eye-region of the head in full focus works terrific for what you've intended to point out!
The sharpness is simply flawless - as usual - and the natural light and colors are lovely.
To be perfectly honest...yep...i kinda knew :) I graduated biology and even if we didn't study much about animals from other continents, i saw a documentary once on animal's vision :)
But it's still a refreshingly original post which i really like :)

Cheers and TFS

Hi Pam

I think I told you this before, but zebras are one of my favourite photographic subjects. I just love to take photos of them in any and every possible pose or activity.

That is why this shot draws my attention so much since it is a very interesting POV. Well, to say the least, I think it is actually very original. A slightly horizontally compressed frame with a 'panorama' feel that zoomed in on the face while it still showed the OOF body markings in the BG. I just love it. However, since your notes focused on the zebras eye sight it was also very appropriate to close in on that facial feature.

You handled the exposure very well to show the excellent contrasts between and on the black & white. The details are very sharp, the BG fits well, and the colour reflects the genuine thing.

Very well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Interesante encuadre Pam muy particular pero efectivo visualmente.
Me gusta el foco y consiguiente OOF de la escena con marcados colores y detalles.
Me gusta la bella simetría de las rayas del animal, bien retratadas aquí.
Cordiales saludos... Ricardo

Interesting framing Pam very particular but effective visually.
I like the focus and resultant OOF of the scene with marked colors and details.
I like the beautiful symmetry of lines of the animal, very depicted here.
Cordial greetings... Ricardo

Hi Pam,
A refreshing and unique shot on this Zebra. Nice sharp detail on the head with a pleasing falloff in the DOF. Spot on exposure looks perfect here. I like it!
Scott

Hello Pam,
What an original photo for this Zebra. Very good idea !
The "+++" : subject, unusual composition, point of view, sharpness, DOF, exposure, smart frame, short but good note...
The "-" : nothing as usual...
Congratulations my friend and TFS.

Hi Pam,
Excellent composition showing the zebra eyes - I really like the way you framed this
The blurred body in the BG is excellent.

Pam, original composition - I do enjoy it.

Excellent sharpness, exposure and dof.

Congratulations.

Hello Pam

Yes, I am OK - but very busy for the time. This is a very interesting cropping. Excellent use of dof to set off the face and blur the rest of teh zebra. The face out of centre is perfect. You did a great job on this one - as usual.

Mogens

Hi Pam,
Wonderfull capture! I really like the POV and the eye contact with this zebra. Well done and nicely composed.
