Steve, it's not nice to go to bed after looking at these wetas of yours at night! Poor fella's got his feelers broken too. They are NOT cute and they are aggressive Steve! Especially around me!
Have a good week away and I do hope you find something good to live in, with lots of wetas and creepy crawlies around you. Take your winter warm clothes with you too Steve.

Wow! Armoured face, scary jaws. Good POV and details. I'm happy that in Poland we haven't got those wetas :-)
Wish you luck with new old house :-) I hope we hear from you soon, Steve!

First time I've seen one of these horrors - didn't the Maoris eat them at one time? Take an umbrella with you on your trip - and I'm sure well see some great pictures coming back when you next log in.

That cannot be a real insect LP ! Too cool, What is it: Darth Vader meets the Arachnophobia meets the Discovery Chanel, meets the Wehrmacht Blitzkrieg ?! Dont let one crawl up your briefs while bushwhacking, yo` buddy ol` pal !

Personal assessment of the photo: great.
Great visual impact.
Aptness of the photo for the site: excellent.
Personal assessment of the note: good but I am not still convinced.

Hi Steve
Good to meet another member of Footrot Flats outside the dog's beady eye. They look a lot like our armoured crickets, really nicein a gruesome sort of way, TFS. I love the licture where he is thowing his hans up in dispair - or is he surrendering to the Murphies Pigs?
Cheers
Callie

Is this some old theatrical properties that’s been left over from either Star Wars or Alien? ;-)
Or maybe this is as close land creatures can come to my uw-snails? ;-)
I really like the POV and that the DOF is narrow.
Great macro shot and thanks for sharing
