[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photo just over a year ago on the beautiful forested volcano, Mt Pirongia, southwest of Hamilton, in the central North Island of New Zealand.
My last post was of the orange fungus, Favolaschia calocera, which arrived here from Australia in the 70's
This is Favolaschia pustulosa, a native relative, which grows a lot larger and less uniform in shape.
These are tricky to photograph well because of the brilliant whites, but are well worth the effort.
I have previously posted several photos of F.pustulosa which I regard as some of my favourite shots of all.
Hope you like this one.
Steve

Hi Steve!
It looks like some kind of sweet cake :-) As you wrote - hard to take, but you did good job. Exposure is ok, same as DOF and sharpness. Good composition with old trunk [or rock?] and jungle on BG. As always you sended photo from place perfect to visit.

hello,
Bonne composition et c'est un sujet intéressant. La lumière est peut-être un peu faible mais le résultat est sympa. Samuel
