[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a New Zealand Weta. I believe it's a male tree weta, although I stand to be corrected on that. (There are about 70 species endemic to NZ). This on was about 4cm (just under 2 inches) body length. It was found in our lounge, which is where I photographed it.

What a scary thing to see on your carpet! Yes, I think it is our common tree weta, scary thing that it is. It has come out well, TFS
