[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Recently I drove up into the hills near Palmerston North to witness the sunrise. The photo I have posted today is of the dawn, the view is looking across the Wairarapa towards Dannevirke and beyond.

I was particularly impressed by the early morning mist layering and drifting across the many valleys of this landscape. Awesome effect and a marvellous start to the day.

Hi Martyn,

Well composed and fantastic photo!
I like this soft color tone and I feel the relief in feelings when such a photograph is seen. And, I think that it draws out the effect that a thick cloud that lies at the center is good for the whole as well as the effect of changing from a sharp image of this front side of the screen into the image with dopy background.

Hello Martin.

You share with us an amazing photograph from the sunshine on the Palmerston hills. Lovely contrast and a very good sharpness. As well as very good depth of field. I like particularly the colors of your photo. My first impression,before to have read your comments was that this is a photo from the mount Hoggar in Algeria, with a very hot temperature and sand wind (Sirocco).
