Never seen one of these before. What a great shot.So this is what so many people call delicacy.
If you took this behind glass I think your camera did an excellent job.
Underwater, and even better.

Hello Janice,
Wow, what a great shot of an unusual creature! I have seen that it has many views but don't have in my opinion, the attention it deserves. The picture is well composed, exposed and detailed. This is such a strange creature to me. This is really a good shot with interesting notes. TFS,
Claudine

Hi Janice
That's different... can't recall seeing a calamari on TN before. Great capture, they're impressive little chaps. Great composition and sharpness. A great post.

You get two points just for the name of this creature :o) Fascinating shot with very good exposure, which is so hard to do in this kind of environment. Awesine carity through that thick glass too...very well done.

Kia Ora Janice,
Excellent shot through the aquarium glass!
perfect exposure and focus with great details on the Ngu Wheke! very sharp especially on the part on the eye! many thanks
Janice, I was out in Cascade park yesterday to locate the falls but failed even with the hard climb through those big rocks from the trail! I had asked someone around, they seems not to know the full view of the Cascade falls, do you know where to get the full view of it?
take care and sincere regards to you and Dave!

Hi Janice,
What an amazing shot of this Squid! I've never seen such a great job through glass. Excellent clarity, colors and details. The eye is magnificent. Beautiful colors against a perfect background - outstanding editing to get the water to look like that.

A perfect capture without any reflections Janice, considering it was taken through the glass of an aquarium and with flash illumination. The details of the squid very good, the huge eyes betraying its nocturnal habit. A good study indeed!

Hi Janice
congratulations on your 600th post. great number. I wish you many hundred posts here. As for this shot, it is very nice. Great pose for squid from great POV. Nicely composed. Thanks for sharing and informative notes.
best wishes

Hi Janice,
Congratulations on your 600th posting! It's quite a challenge to get a good shot through glass in an aquarium. You need to have enough light, but you have to eliminate reflections. You did an excellent job. The squid looks like it is just hanging there, looking you over. Very fine shot! TFS.

Hello Janice,
A beautiful shot of this Southern Calamari Squid. I visit also in 2005 Kelly Tarlton's. A very special place to be there. Just what Tony said: An excellent shot through the aquarium glass. I try to make pictures trough the glass and I sure you, not so beautiful as yours. You did a great job. The light over the back of the squid is amazing. The dark BG makes this photo a beautiful compo.
Cheers and TFS BOB

First I thought it was a fighter plane from the Indian Air Force, Janice :)!
I am further amazed to know from your note that you shot it inside an aquarium.
Wow, it's a scream!
Under-water photography is an unknown area for me, so I am thrilled to see this wonderful capture.
The silver/grey colour of the Squid looks fabulous.
Thanks and regards.

Hi Janice.
Quite an amzing shot, especially since it was taken through glass. These things can move really fast when disturbed,so this one must have been pretty comfortable where it was.
We used to shoot them with home made spearguns on Niue.We never ate them, but they made great bait.
Cheers
