A young bellbird. This bird is endemic in New Zealand and quite frequent on Tiritiri Mantangi. It is reported [1] that this bird is also present in the forests and parcs of the mainland.
Bellbirds eat nectar of some specific plants found in the rainforest. On Tiritiri Mantangi feeding stations provide additional food supply and a good place to spot this bird.
