it's maybe a bit late to say Happy New Year to you down under.

A well composed picture with the wings in a nice diagonal,
well exposed with nice and natural colours.
Well done, old friend.

The winter is here, not much snow and nor so cold either -10C in the morning. But I will gladly spend the winter in a warmer place, do you have room for two for about 3 months :-) :-)

Very nice hoto and a well chosen titel! The flying bird looks very nice as the image shows it sharply. There are also nice colors in the background enhacing even more the sharpness of the bird.

Over the edge it goes and there's no turning back.
The old year is gone – 2009 lies ahead.
Another closure – another beginning.
However, as always, there is forever someone staying behind – like the bird
that remained motionless on the quay (or was it just a rock?).
A lovely in-flight (or takeoff) shot and I like how the gannet turned its head to the side to give us a better view.
The subject stands out well against the dark water surface in the BG.
