This is strikingly beautiful.
It reminds me a bit of the fibre optic decorations available these days.
A very exotic looking flower for a guy like me in the frozen wilderness of Ontario.
Lovely bright colours that are well saturated.
Excellent POV and DOF.
Nicely composed in the frame.

Hallo janice,

The flowers you have photographed are very nice. You are showing them in a good, sharp image rendering well the details of the plant. As you have chosen a good DOF the whole flower can be well seen. There are nice colors and a fine contrast between the red of the petals and the green and brown of the tree.

What a lovely pair of uniquely beautiful flowers native to your country, Janice!
I am amazed to see them growing on short and stubby branchs from the stem of the tree.
The deep red colour is very eye-catching and attractive.

Great information and a well presented documentary image.

The red flowers looks a lot like a common desert wildflower found throughout the southwest of the USA called a "fairy duster". I should look up the scientific name, but that is to much work ;)

Hi janice,
Do you know that we have one of those New Zealand Christmas Trees planted right in front of our house? The city had decided that that was a most handsome and hardy tree to plant along the streets in our community. We love them.
Now that you have posted this image, I will think of you everytime I see it. : )
