Unusual Sand Formation at the Beach

This is to cheer Bob Shannon up. He is counting down the months until summer ends for me, so I said I would post a beach scene for him.

My husband and I decided to go to the next beach, Mairangi Bay, for a coffee, and seeing the tide was out we walked under the cliffs you can see there on the right.

And I was struck by this unusual sand formation - I have never seen it before.

At Murrays Bay we have black sand in certain parts of the beach but otherwise the sand is a normal creamy colour. These textures were formed by small lapping waves as the tide went out, leaving the light cream sand.

Nice to see movement of wave that continuous to the sand.I though the POV is from the highland. Beautiful graphic of sand.I am sure our friend will be happy.TFS.

A beautiful composition on ripple marks left stranded by the ebb tide Janice, the tremendous depth provided by the wide angle shot is very evident here and the general exposure is perfect my friend, TFS this highly original scene!

Heheheh...so you are reading my mind eh now Janice....I was just going to mention that there is a small lack of summer images from S Hemi this year and here you are back again....thanks for the swell image..I hope to see some scenes such as this instead of WHITE...WHITE is blinding me here..Your patterns on the beach are shot at a nice pleasing angle..almost as if I were laying there looking..Very neat and thoughtful I shall now show Jane..

I like a lot the framing you choose, to focus all the attention on the sand's formations, while seeing and enjoying also the beach up there.

Its nice to see you'r support to Bob in its cold fearful (-: days in America. like your POV. The ribbles in the sand are not unknown to me. In Holland you see this more. Will be dealing with flow. But anyway, a perfect summershot from a marvelous beach in a perfect country.

I was up there in Browns bay in the new year time, but miss Murrays bay from the trip due time!
I loved the creamy sand that I first came across from all the bay!
excellent depth with a beautiful sunlight across the bay!

Hi Janice!

Water is a fine artist! And it doesn't matter if does its creations like here by transforming the sandy beach or as I like to show it by creating paintings when it freezes. Your picture reflects the summer ambience very well and is a welcome change to our deep cold here in Switzerland.

From my point of view, the picture shown in the WS is as beautiful as the one here. It's more abstract and artistic, and I like that very much.
