"Hey mister, you need some air in that ol' Michelin." And so spake the "tyre bird" (my nickname)as he prowled the parking lot of us hikers ascending various trails in Arthurs Pass, South Island, New Zealand.
Wekas (Gallirallus Australis) are everywhere in NZ, but they skulk and you often don't notice them. I chased this guy around for a good pic and gave up, until it seemed mesmerized by this tyre and I was down on the gravel to capture this image - just for you fellow TN-ers! |
