| Taken at Birdlings Flat, East coast of the South Island near Christchurch city. Flocks of these birds were flying very low, very fast over the water possibly migrating (Autumn / Fall). Can anybody help to identify these birds please? |

They look like some sort of cormoront but i'm no expert. nice flock picture good action but focus is off and colors are a bit dull.
Hi Robert,
Welcome to TN. Looks like a flock of Cormorants or Shags. You've captured a nice group of the guys which I have seen before, usually they seem to fly alone. Your composition is good as with exposure. I'd probably like to see alittle more seperation between the birds but that is easier said than done. You've got a little bit of a colour cast issue going on...strong magenta/red cast. I have posted a workshop with my interpretation.
