[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Black sand beaches are always fascinating to Europeans. They witness the creation of lava rocks millions of years ago. In this case the rugged lava is already turned into pebble stones but it will still take ten thousands of years before they turn into real black sand.

Kaikoura, this is a rugged place at times. Super view of it Thomas. I love your POV taken at beach level and how you show the waves and also the snow on the mountains behind. Excellent capture, thank you.

I never knew that about the black sand, as we have a patch of black sand on our Murrays Bay in just one area, and I've always wondered why. TFS.

Good view that needs more DOF to avoid the blurred distance and is rather overexposed in the sea area - you might have had a better shot by exposing for the bright whites, and then using PS to comensate for the dark sand.
