Walking along the beach just outside of the town of kaikoura I happened apon one of the worst smells I can remember.
I turned round to see I had nearly tripped over a New Zealand Fur Seal - and there was not just one.
The smell came from many fur seals - these bad boys may be cute - but they sure do hum.
This was a fantastic experience to be so close to these beautiful animals. Obviously keeping a safe distance I started to shoot.
They are very observant animals and appeared to be as interested in me as I was them.
This was just one of many very special encounters I had with the nature in New Zealand. I hope to visit again soon.
I hope you like the image.

Hello Nick!
First, a belated and warm welcome to TN!
Now, a wonderful capture and moment.
There is a sense of tolerance on the part of the seal, for yet another such interruption :-)
Nice details, POV, pose, and eye contact.
Well done and thank you.

Hi Nick, good capture of the fur seal. The BG is a bit over-exposed, but the smelly fella stands out well. You have to keep out of their way, don't you? And they can move fast too. quite scary at times! Good shot, well done. Thanks for sharing...
