Hello Pam,
Great timing in the capture of this White Heron taking off. The almost frontal POV is superb and I like the composition of the stretched out wings with the cloudy part of the sky below and the head and neck reaching for the blue.

Very beautiful in flight capture.
Excellent composition and lovely pose of the bird.
Looks like the bird does launch itself in to the blue sky.
Perfect exposure due to wich all feather details are wonderfully visible.

Beautiful inflight shot. I think I'm standing on the beginning of the runway (-: Razorsharp picture with fine details. Natural colors. Nice POV, DOF and BG. i like the compo very much. The biggest part of white Heron has the clouds as BG and the last part has blue sky as BG. Very special. Regards and TFS BOB

Hello Pam,
I've looked through at some of your most recent shots with the MKIII. You seem to be getting the hang of it, without a doubt ;}
This is a wonderful capture - The pose is fantastic.
Your split BG adds some drama, giving one the feeling that this bird is going up, up, and away, high over the clouds!
So does the 70-200mm + your 2X out-perform the straight 100-400mm?
