Here is 3 young Nelson lakes green geckos (Naultinus stellatus)sunning on a some slate.
colour and patterns are especially variable.young are born green with white markings and within 18 months change to there adult coloration.they are arboreal living in forest and scrub and are a diurnal gecko. young are born in autumn or early winter.
the specific name stellatus means starred referring to the pattern. |

Interesting looking geckos! Love the green with the stars! But it is a pity about the one amputated tail.
