[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another fungi from my successful outing to the Arnold River reserve the other day.
When I found this I was very excited, thinking I may have discovered a new species of Humidicutis as it closely resembled the white Humidicutis mavis in appearance.
Clive (fungiman) directed me to a photograph of Hygrocybe striatolutea saying that this is what he thought it probably was.
The only doubt I entertain at all is in regard to its size.
Horak described this fungi as having a cap up to 45mm in diameter, whereas the ones I found were almost twice that size.
Whatever it turns out to be,I'm still thrilled to have found it and been able to photograph it satisfactorily.

I'd like to dedicate this one to Laszo who posted a pretty yellow one for me yesterday.
Cheers Laszlo,

Steve

Hi Steve,
Your uncertainty regarding its ID notwithstanding, it is a marvellous capture of this fungi.
The delicate looking yellow mushroom growing out of the damp fallen leaves looks three-dimensional in this well controlled shot.
Well done and thanks for sharing the picture.

Hi Steve

Great capture - your shot really gives an excellent impression of the humid forest(?) floor and the waxy nature of the fungi.

Hello Steve,
Great capture of this bright yellow fungus that looks really good against the brown dead leaves. Very sharp and I like the low POV. (PS. You were quick to jump at my comment on Mariki's Bee Beetle - by 'here' I meant 'here in Sweden'! Sorry!

Namastay Steve,
A nice and colorful mushroom species. Very nice capture with excellent details and a very good composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Steve.
Sorry for not reply you message, but as you know my time i limited lately.
It is great that you at last decided to get into the long exposure world... I can notice with you last posts that you have already discovered the wide posibilities that are available specially with fungi shots.
Very nice exposure in this beauty, you are lucky to find so many Hygrocybes, they are very photogenic. Lovely composition too against the dark background.
I am sure you will enjoy yourself very much from now on, and remember that long exposure shots, usually allow heavier postprocess in dark parts than "auto mode" captures. Sometimes I discard some shots which look underexposed, and discover lately wonderul captures only with some levels adjust.
My best wishes, MF.
Felipe.

Awesome shot, lovely colour contrasts and very sharp.

Well done, Steve :-)

Cheers Steve,
Thank You very much for this fine dedication. Wonderful capture of a very photogenic Hygrocybe, You show us awesome yellow. Although - as usually - the size of Your photo's quite far from the limit, details and sharpness are perfect. Gorgeous documentation photo. Bravo.

Hi Steve,

Hi Steve

Can't believe I've missed so many of your posts. I must be asleep or something (lol). Gee 80mm, is quite large, nothing in the genus that big over here. I agree that in general appearance it does look like a yellow form of H. mavis.
Great composition, sharpness, DOF and POV.

Chris
