Hi Kathleen

A very good POV with excellent exposure - you have maintaines great detail in the petals.

James

Wow! I had no idea the midlobe was so pretty.
This is a beautiful shot of it.
I know the composition is 'technically correct' but I find the cut off bits a bit hard to ignore. I think I prefer to see these close ups of orchids a little more centered (but thats just me ... I've always been O/C about symmetry :)

I was at the Bealy earlier today, but I guess I'll have to wait until November to find these.
Very few fungi left up there either. Its in deep snow at the moment.
Learning to drive the new Canon is a lot harder than expected. It has such a lot of buttons all over that its hard to pick it up or handle it without changing half a dozen settings. The Lumix was fairly simple by comparison.
I think its going to take me a little while before I can use the Canon as well as I could the Panasonic.
Cheers Steve

Living in a place where everything has thorns, such beauty amazes me! What a wonderful capture of the color! Great details. I might not have cut off the petals but it's a matter of opinion. Beautiful photo! :)

I am surprised this beautiful flower does not win over the rose, but I suppose it is the occasion. Beautiful, colorful and very educational. It is again the dainty side of this world...Very nicely done.
