I've stressed the word healthy here because so often New Zealand cabbage trees are seen ravaged by pests or disease.
These beautiful ones on the edge of our land at Barrytown are some of the healthiest I have seen.
Theres not a notch to be seen in the leaves of these beauties.
I know Janice,Pam and Sue will appreciate that, since so many northern trees are quite badly eaten.
I think its a cabbage tree moth, although I've heard there is a disease that gets them too.
Does anyone know about that? |

Hi Steve!
Great landscape from Paradise ;-) Amazingly looking tree, I've never saw it before. And I'm glad that it is in good condition ;-) Great observation Steve!
Hi Steve
This is an extremely healthy stand of cabbage trees. So often they can look really sad an tattered. We have a lovely stand beside our front door. They are just as healthy as this stand, but it wasn't always the case. Nice shot. Thanks.
