Well,we flew to the West Coast (of the South Island of NZ) and looked at the house we want to buy in Blackball (An old gold/coal mining town in the mountains near Greymouth).
We also visited this gold laden stream in the hills a few minutes drive out of Blackball.
Moonlight Creek passes through mostly Beech forest, containing a few scattered podocarps, Rimu, Kahikatea, and Miro, though not as big as I'm used to up north here in Pirongia.
You may just be able to see the figure of a man sitting by the stream (just below a little white cross to the left of the picture). He was panning for gold, and showed me a small collection of nuggets he'd found the previous day. You can see these in the WORKSHOP photo. He reckoned they were worth about $200 NZ.

Hi Steve. Very nice and tranquille picture. Good POV. Are you sure about buying a house near Greymouth? ;) When I was in NZ and cruised both islands, I experienced good weather everywhere but in Greymouth I experienced the heaviest rainfall ever in my life! Or are you already a 'coaster' now? ;)

Cheers,
Pieter

WoW ! Superbe prise, j'aime bien l'effet que ses gros arbres donne à cette photo. L'entrée de soleil et l'éclairage est très bon. F`licitation et bonne journée.

Yes! Great picture and remains me one chase scene from 'Thin Red Line' movie. Great story! Goldrush! Maybe you should try too, Steve :-) You know - mp3-player with ska music [big thanks for ska song!], you and gold nuggets :-) WS picture with nuggets looks very encouragingly!

Steve, Great POV on this one..As your eye goes up-stream, you can see the lighter shade of green from the distant bank..TFS a great shot from this beautiful place you call home!! There's gold in them thar hills! ;-))

So we can look forward to some more of these beautiful scenes can we Steve? I love the POV you have here, with the stream disappearing into the distance. And the colours - great. Well done!

Hi Steve, nice shot here. I like the POV at the same level as the water. It's very good bit maybe you should condsider rotating the image a degree or two anti-clockwise. Well done.

Hey Steve, there is gold in that river, are you going to start changing your occupation?.
Nice shot of the river and its surroundings. Good work.
