| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Driving home from Greymouth a few weeks ago I was treated to this rare display as a brisk Easterly wind blew against the swell coming in from the West whipping the tops of the waves into a fine spray.
The colour here is somewhat lacking as I was shooting towards the sun and had to reduce the light levels considerably to eliminate the glare and give the best effect.
Hope you like this one.

Hi Steve,
Stunning photo with excellent use of the lighting. It gave the entire photo a silver look. You captured the force of the waves perfectly. Love the limited color tones and the composition with the rock in the correct position.
TFS,
Niek

Awesome shot Steve, and good in BW. I can see it is an off-shore wind with the water so smooth further out, but the gust certainly whipped up the swell. Well done,
Janice
Hi Steve,
Well done mf. I like the POV/comp and the winds effect on the breaking surf I see :)

Hi Steve. Good silvery sea with spray. It is very realistic. As an old surfie from New Plymouth this brings back fond memories. Good clarity and colour. Murray.
