| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This seems to be a reasonably common phenomenon here on the West Coast.
Often there are so many layers of cloud that the sun, though not visible for much of the afternoon, will make a brief appearance through a small gap before disappearing over the horizon.
On this particular evening I was watching from the coast road near Punakaiki and caught this dazzling display at just the right time.
Hope you like it.

I love the glow in the sky, a well captured sunset :)
Namastay Steve,
It looks like the sun is about to burst. Excellently composed with nice colors. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Sincerely,
Hara
Hi Steve,
Great shot. Seems or the sun explodes. In spite of the back-light to see you nevertheless heal well the horizon. Nice colors. A good composition. Regards and TFS Bob

Hi Steve!
Yeah, looks like nuclear burst. Fantastic shapes and colours of clouds melted by burning sun.
