[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another shot from the expidition up the Fox River Gorge with my son Aqua.
At this point,as you can see,the gorge is quite narrow,and filled with limestone boulders.
Once,this section of the river was once a massive cave passage,probably 40 metres high or more.
At the edge of the canyon here,the towering cliffs have the remnants of a curved roof and some calcite crystal formations (stalactites).
At various points along the canyon,there are large amounts of water gushing out from underneath rocks,or from cracks in the riverbank,showing the prescence of more caves.
Cave systems are just like river systems underground,with tributaries,waterfalls,and sometimes even lakes.
In the future I hope to visit and photograph mre of our West Coast caves .... keep watching ;)
