Yesterday I posted a shot looking north along the coast from a friends house at Nine Mile, and you could see Mt George in that shot.
This is taken from the summit of Mt George, looking south (my friends house is one of those that you can see by the bend on the road in the middle distance).
Over to the left,at the top of the photo is the small town of Runanga, and Greymouth, where I live,is just behind the hill in the centre.
I love paddling my kayak along the coastline here, exploring the secluded bays, and playing with the seals and rare Hectors Dolphins.
Fishing here on the coast has been very good lately, with Kahawai (a salmon like schoolfish) running in our rivermouth at the moment.I've been out nearly every day lately, bringing home fish for the family, and friends. On Saturday I caught 10 off our local wharf (averaging just under 3kg each)
It certainly helps to have sources of free food in these hard economic times :)
Hope you like the view.
Thanks for looking,
Steve
PS This evening I will pass the 10,000 point milestone.
Thanks to all of you who have shown an interest in my photos over the years. |

Your town by the sea looks gorgeous from that height, Steve. What a fine place to live in!
The panoramic view consisting of earth, water and sky looks beautiful. I feel like walking up the wooded hill slope in the foreground and eventually seeing this view with my own eyes from the summit.
But, then, if wishes were horses . . .
Thanks and regards.
