Clavicorona piperata I think,if it's not hopefully someone will tell me what it is.
Didn't have to go far this weekend to find fungi,it's everywhere.This one I found at a place called Nelson creek a old gold mining area. |

Hi Russel.
Interesting shot.
I couldn't comment on the Id as there are so many of these fungi that I find it difficult to decide myself which are which.
A great image though.

Hi Russell,
Your fungus is unlikely to be Clavicorona piperata as its believed not to be in NZ. Clavulina subrugosa var. tenuis would be a better guess and I mean guess! the club fungi are imposable to ID with out the use of a microscope.
Never the less nicely exposed with a good contrasting back ground.
