Good Morning Kathleen (prob evening for you)

What a weird fungus - great colour and composition - to say nothing of the patience it must have taken to get this shot. I imagine it must have been very wet / muddy?

James

Hello Kathleen,
You are lucky to find such impressive mushroom in your country and it is nice to share it with us. I like its shape and its red color. The excellent sharpness and the good POV allow to see the texture and the gills.
Congratulations,
Christian

Excellent work Kathleen. I posted one of these a while back, but this specimen (and your capture of it) is clearly superior. The scanning job is great too.
Beuatiful saturated colour, perfect exposure and DOF. Great sharpness and superior gill detail.
Excellent work.

Fungi is not an interesting subject for me, but I must admit that this one caught my attention. What a brilliant red! Outstanding management of exposure to get such great light and color on subject in the dark conditions. Very sharp focus also!

Hello Kathleen,
Despite the scanning, this is a great capture of another one of your strikingly colourful fungi. It is of technical top quality and nicely composed against the dark mossy BG.
TFS and have a good weekend,
Ivan

Brilliant red - great detail and again you managed to capture the 'texture' of the fungi. Wonderful composition with the positioning of the fungi and the curve of the stem.

Hallo Kathleen
Extraordinary! Beautiful! Outstanding colours. Excellent photography. A real eye catcher. I like it very much. It was interesting for me to read that this was taken from a slide. The technology is amazing. It looks so unreal and it is a first for me. I have never seen anything like this before. We are so used to the common “mushrooms” here in South Africa. I normally suck up like a sponge with any new kind of information. I also picked up this very interesting notes a few days ago and found it very helpful. Please check out this out when you do have some time. Although it is not related to your topic, you might just find it as interesting as I did.
Tips & Techniques
Thanks for sharing and enjoy the weekend.

These are the hardest to photograph I find. The autococus just doesn't see that red colour.
A nice clear shot though and nice POV.
Good work.
Cheers,Steve

This is such a rich looking image, it make me want to take up 'Shroonography' did I coin the phrase? Anyway awesome shot Kathleen. The details, especially under the cap, and colors are to put it mildly ultra fantastic! :)

This is hands down one of my favorite Fungi captures of all time! Excellent Photo Kathleen!
