Hello Pam! This is nice ... I don't think the big wooden log is distracting at all. The action in this picture is fantastic, details are sharp and colors are great. Wonderful POV & DOF. I know these birds are fast and I really think you did a great job freezing the action and that with a ss of 'just' 1/500. Well done! TFS!

Superbe ce vol de rapace, bravo Pam pour cette photo bien piquée. A premiére vue l'alignement des piquets de bois des clotures m'a fait penser à un micrométre permettant de definir l'echelle de prise de vue !!!Didier.

Even though I do find the fence and log distracting the flight of this Falcon has been beautifully captured with full extension of down wing. Details in body are sharp with just a slight blur on wing tips, very nice indeed Pam. P.S. Its always nice to see camera data in note, well done.

I just discover your NZ falcon series, Pam. Thank you for sharing these with us. This one is really impressive with the sharp eye shining in the light. Wings position is so typical. Smooth BG makes it come like a 3D picture. Was it possible to crop a bit more to enlarge the falcon?

Nice and sharp, I assume you used the tried and trusted method of pre-focussing on the perch before he took off? Good composition, it's a little shame about the fence in the background, but it doesn't spoil it.
