This interesting fungi with its tiers of branches place one on top of the other then finishing in a crown. Is always found on well rotted wood in groups sometimes running down a log for several meters. Of the two common species in New Zealand these stand out for other club fungi by there presence on wood and if looked at with a microscope the gloeoplerous hyphae are the give away. The gloeoplerous hyphae are larger and look like veins running through the fruiting body.

Hello Clive,

A great composition of this fungi. What do you think these are two separate fungi or is there one? Perfect sharpness, fine details and natural colors. You show us also the environment where they grow. Thats nice and thanks for that. Greetings and TFS BOB

Hello Clive,
I like your fungi photos, you always take us to a different place that's right under our feet. This fungi is something I've never seen. You've got great clarity and color, and the sharpness is very well done.
