I cannot decide which of the two I like the most, the colourful flower or the butterfly with its clear details. The details, especially on the part around the head are nice, clear and sharp. The bright colours are lovely and pleasant. Great close-up showing the fine hairs and white spots very clear. Well framed against a beautiful background. Thanks for sharing.

Ps. I have also noticed that there are less insects and birds in the garden at the moment, and thought it must have something to do with the change of seasons.

Another wonderful shot of this charming Monard on the beautiful Lantanas. Superb colours and details and I like this different POV and perspective. Neat focus on the eyes and the proboscis looks fabulous. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Your butterfly shots are a different quality of colour as opposed say your seascape images..Without going into the all of the EXIF data...I wonder at this..and if not a lens deal then perhaps the CMOS...but for what it is worth, you are great at both close in and landscapes!

Hello Tony. This exact color lantana I have in my lawn and do attract butterfly which I captured my common Leopard for TN. Good close shot of this monarch with excellent sharpness and details around the head. I like the pleasant blurry green background which contrasts well with the butterfly. Well done and best regards. The maestro of colours rides again! Fantastic, Tony, what colours! Usually saturated reds don't come out that good and you are able to give us orange on green with this fantastic sharp butterfly and it comes out wonderfully. I love strong beautiful colours like these, it is vibrant and so lively. Thank you!

I have not trouble to decide which of the two I like the most, the colourful flower or the butterfly with its clear details. In my opinion BOTH. The body of this buttrfly is indeed razorsharp, but is a pity that you can't show us the both wings. They are also beautiful from this Monarch. The light on the white dots is beautiful. Hello Tony,
Interesting POV when this Monarch has its wings outspread. This sharp capture shows us the dimensions of the body, especially the thorax, not otherwise completely seen from other POV's. Excellent composition with the red lantana flowers against a great natural bokeh BG.

Hi Tony

This is a beauty and I admire your versatality! Amazing rich colors in the picture, fantastic POV and I really like the way you have used a shallow DOF. However, saddened to note that Lantana has invaded NZ - it is an introduced species in India, and has literally taken over the understory in many of our deciduous forests. I hope it has not managed to outcompete too much of NZ's unique natural vegetation!
