There was a storm brewing but the sunset managed to break thru as if Heaven had opened its doors a crack and let the glory out. It was a beautiful thing to see.

Hello Nicki,
Just too good landscape, however you could have gone for loading bigger frame instead. Cheers for excellent shot.

Hi Nicki
A moody scene and a lovely burst of sunlight. It certainly does give the appearance of light streaming through an open door. One thing to watch - keep the horizon level. I have done a workshop for you to demonstrate this, plus a tad burning in around the edges and a slight adjustment to contrast. Hope you like it.
Cheers
Elizabeth

Hi Niki

I was in Greymouth in April, nice place and plenty of things to do and shot. Didn't get any nice sunsets though. This one is very good, a great spread of golden rays.

Hi Nicki,
A lovely capture of the evening glory off the West Coast.
I looked at Elizabeths workshop .... usually I think they're really good, but I think this one looks a little blue ... the clouds especially.
(Digitals often pick up quite a bit of UV in certain conditions and I often reduce the blue in many photos like this)
I've had a go myself and tried to make it look more like I imagined it would be ... sorry Elizabeth ;)
Hope you like my effort.
Cheers
Steve

nicki,
what a fabulous view you've been witness to.
amazing colors.
may i suggest a slight correction in the tilt.
also, the horizon is centred at the moment...a slight crop from the top will shift the horizon to the upper thirds and strengthen the composition.

Wow, You really know where to go at the right time. This scene is beautiful, but as I stated in one of your previous shots, It would be much more affective if it was larger. Perhaps a little bit of cropping would have helped out here as well because the details in the sky look a little too washed out near the top of the frame. But other than that you've captured this perfectly.
