[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo facinated me. It reminded me of some much loved movies called "Back to the future" In it the car gets up to a certain speed and then just disappears into the future, leaving nothing but tyre marks in the present. This was taken at Karoro Beach on a beautiful Coast day.

What also reminds me about this photo is natures ability to reclaim what man has made. Here on the West Coast our history is full of gold mining for example. There have been places where thousands of people lived and mined for Gold. Places where whole cities had existed, with shops and schools and pubs. You can see photos of these towns and people, but they are the only evidense that they were ever there, because nature has reclaimed the land and the bush has regrown. Now in places where thriving towns once were there in now not a single shred of evidence. These tracks too will disappear when the tide reclaims their place.. and thats as it should be.

Also looking at this photo you could believe that here on the West Coast we have beautiful sandy beaches, but actually no. This beach in fact is a stony beach at high tide, the sand only appears when the tide is way out and in fact if you look closely you can get a sense for how far out it is. This is the time I often come down and find masses of gulls on the beach and in fact one this day they were there too.

Hi Nicki,
This is an interesting photo. I like the way the clouds compliment the tracks.
However it could possibly be removed, only because of the tyre tracks.
It would be ideal for posting on Trek Lens (one of the two sister sites) but may not quite meet the TN TOS (terms of service).
If you read the guidelines they will say that the photo and note must tell us something about nature and avoid showing man made objects if possible.
Some people take the TOS fairly seriously and dob in pics that don't comply, but I think you should be ok with this one.
(just thought I'd let you know in case it disappears though)
Its a nice enough shot, but watch that horizon ... its a bit lower on the right.
I'll send you an email with a bit more info about Trek Nature, Trek Lens and Trek Earth.
Cheers
Steve

Indeed a very nice picture and the colors so rich. I like the fact that all you see is the car tracks and nothing else around it spoils it. Looks like a beautiful beach.

Thanks for sharing

Demetrio

Hi Nicki
I don't think I've ever seen Karoro Beach look so nice and sandy! Great POV and DOF. The colours are nicely saturated on the right but the left is a little burnt out where the sunlight hits the sand/water. I like the way the tracks lead you into the image; well seen.
Cheers
Elizabeth
