Hi Janice,
I saw the fern and knew that it was you. Your fern shots are always so beautiful and aesthetic. In this one the ligthing makes the photo very beautiful. The shallow DOF isolate the illuminated leaves perfectly and add good depth to the photo. The details on the leaves are wonderful.

Dear Janice,
It is one of the unusual ferns I have seen. The color & sharpness is excellent. It merits to be a greeting card indeed.

Hi Janice,
I thought I'd seen enough of these ferns after yesterday :-) But no, this is beautiful, quite striking light and shadow, perfectly framed and great detail. Nice and sharp against the defocused background, great work.

Adrian

The beautiful composition of these ferns is even attractive in the thumbnail, Janice!
The capture of these Silver Fern fronds against the light is superb and their arrangement against a dark natural BG is very artistic.
This has to go into my favourites!
Thanks!
Have a good week,
Ivan

Hello Janice,
I love your ferns and this one is very beautiful bathing in light against the background of the dark forest floor. Wonderful colours too and very well composed!
Many thanks and cheers, Ulla

Hi Janice!
This picture is just beautiful. I didn't know - and it's a shame - that you like to take pictures of ferns. This one is so sharp and clear, and the colours are superb.
Kind regards
Markus
Hi Janice
Is this your bit to participate in the national intimidation for the upcoming Tri-Nations series between the All Blacks, the Wallabies, and the Springboks (chuckle)?
No, a lovely capture of this beautiful fern. Splendid colours, amazing sharp details, and a wonderful composition. One can actually see very clearly the "silver" reflection on those leaves.
Well done and TFS.

PS. Just for the record. With our lame exhibition of the 2nd test against a depleted and crippled Wales team I don't hold much faith in any positive results for the Boks during the upcoming series. There is still far too much politics that cripples our rugby.
Btw. I see that the Encarta Dictionary does not like the word "cripple" and given their explanation that is probably exactly what needs to be said about politics in sport. It is offensive and it robs the game of its national pride. Compare this with the underlined portions below. This is what Encarta has to say:
An offensive term for:
- somebody who is challenged in a particular area or aspect, e.g. financially,
- impaired functioning or progress of something such as a machine or project,
- impaired ability of somebody to move, e.g. as a result of an accident or medical condition,
- impaired corporate decision-making,
- impairment of a country's economy.

Hi Janice,
I always love your fern shots, you have nice perspectives showing very nice detail, not too mention all 190 different species you have there in NZ. I bet you could make a book on the native ferns you have there.
Paul :)
