Oh my what a powerful, stunning shot! Your new camera does VERY well, the clouds are all so sharp and clear, the sky seems to be on fire. I love the clouds streaking across the horizon! Thanks for sharing such a stunning view! I'm off to Mexico with Julie for 10 days, I hope to capture some nice photos, but I doubt any sunrise I see will equal this!

Chocolate box stuff! This is really nice, I like (other than I normally would as it is man made) the pier, it adds value. I will post one as well tomorrow and we can compare our outdoor worlds. Maybe we can start a sunset / sunrise theme?

Good for ya - hope you enjoy the baby a lot, and this is one very nice picture of the little island down under, even if certain rugby players could not make it! I'm glad to say, I was hunting dragonflies when they played.

I came to the conclusion years ago that the sunrises and sunsets in NZ are specially spectacular, probably due to the very southerly latitiude and the very clear skies. This picture confirms it. Makes me homesick for the amazing red skies one sees, Rangitoto, and also for the pale pink sunsets in Auckland! I need to come on back down for a while!

I always like the bird,insect,animal, and plant photos that are posted on this site. But, I really love beautiful landscape shots. This is a superb shot. The compostion and framing are perfect. A beautiful and colorful sky. Postcard perfect, frame it!!!

Wonderful sunrise Janice, this is my favorite of the three. The sky looks absolutely amazing and the colours are so strong. Scenes like this are well worth the early rise and I just can't seem to do it. Very good work.

Hi Janice, I do indeed like this scene and boy is it colourful! Beautiful colours, as you say, almost like a painting. The light, colours and movement of the water are fantastic and I like the contrast with the black of the backlit pier, tree and hills in the distance. It manages to be both dramatic and peaceful all at once. Wonderful shot :)

Nothing wrong to say. It demonstrate that great pictures belong to peoples who wake up early. Shame I'm a morning sleeper, but the older I get, the earlier I wake up. I should be ok in my 80s to take pictures like yours ;o)
