I added 'New Zealand' to the title anyway,as if it wasn't immediately obvious that this is not the Nile River of Africa and Egypt.
This Nile begins in the limestone mountains of the West Coasts Paparoa Range, and flows out to sea at Charleston,a few kilometres south of Westport.
There are some quite large cave systems in these mountains, and plenty yet to be discovered no doubt.
The best known of these is The Metro which is a popular tourist attraction, featuring calcite speleothems such as stalactites and stalagmites,as well as a float through glow worm grotto.

Hope you like the shot.
Cheers
Steve

You have captured a very good compostion and with natural colours. One day before i get to old i would love to take a trip around New Zealand . TFS.

Hi Steve, what's up?

Yeah, nice Nile, but I don't see any pyramids around :-) You should build one or two. And invite some tourists. And of course start to sell tickets :-)

Ciao Steve,
bellissimo paesaggio, ottimo taglio compositivo con la prospettiva del fiume, dell'intersecarsi delle valli e delle montagne innevate, molto belli i colori e la luce.
Grazie e complimenti.
Maurizio

Hi Steve, A fine composition with excellent clarity and colours. The blue tones of water and sky are excellent. I have not heard of this river before but maybe it is one with Greenstone boulders in it? Sounds like a good place to visit. TFS. Murray.

Hello Steve,
This is a fantastic view along the river to the snow-topped mountains beyond. Excellent DOF and beautiful colours. Beautiful calm water too. I wonder if you took this from a boat or from a bridge, you're certainly in the middle of it! Well done!
Many thanks, Ulla

Hi Steve

A perfect picture by the looks, clear blue sky and snow on the peaks, very cool. Great composition.

Chris

Hi Steve,
A beautiful natural river located in a stunning landscape. Your photo shows all the beauty in a perfect composition. I especially like how the river draw my eyes further into the photo to the stunning mountains. The photo has a good feel of serenety. Is there a reason why they called this river the Nile?
TFS,
Niek
