[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hey everyone, well what can I say.. I'm a bit of a romantic at heart and these two Keas were so soppy. There was real affction between them. It was so lovely to watch them preen eachother and cuddle up close and lean into each other. You can even see the look of besottedness in the Kea on the rights eyes (hope I got my lefts and rights.. right lol) I couldnt resist catching a shot of a Kea Kiss lol. Sadly they were on a rooftop, so it wasnt the easiest to get a good shot, but I'm glad I caught what I did.

Cheers
Nicki

Hi Nicki,
you big softie ;o) What a lovely shot showing the genuine bond and affection between this pair. The close in framing works well and you go some good detail and colour in the feathers too...very nicely done.

Hi Nicki, a heartwarming and touching shot of these Kea's. A touch more sharpness would be nice, but as you say its not always the easiest to find prfect conditions for photography.

Very nice photo

I really like the positive and negative shapes in this image and defined them a bit more in a workshop. The world could use a little more "soppiness". Thanks for sharing.

Evelynn : )

A cool shot, Nicki. I wondered why the Kea on the right had yellow on the beak and eyelids; checked my 'bird bible' and see that those are characteristics of the juvenile. The female juvenile loses this colour at the end of the second year and the male at the end of the third year. Perhaps the pair you have here are a parent and young?

I like the crop done in the workshop!

Cheers
Elizabeth

Hello Nicki,
This tender shot of a pair of keas caught my eye.
The roof-top POV shows their mutual pair-bonding very well taken with excellent sharpness. Its easy for us humans to put our feelings into such a shot but the tenderness and care is plain to see!
TFS this delight,
Regards, Ivan

Oh how sweet to see these two parrots cuddling up together.
And they weren't trying to get into the house or down the chimney this time??
I read that Keas are polygamists and it is known that dominant males have been known to "pair up" with up to 4 females. So perhaps this is the male trying for another wife!!
Good shot and I like Evelynn's workshop too
Janice
