[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
If this dragonfly head looks tatty and dishevelled,thats for a very good reason.
I found it pinned to the wall of a punk flat I visited today in Greymouth.It was covered in dust and fluff,and its rear end actually dropped off as I took it down.
Believe it or not ... as I photographed this with my mini tripod on the floor,I had drunken punks all around me,all playing different tunes on electric guitars and screeching randomly into microphones.
Being a former punk myself,I didn't mind too much ... in fact afterwards I downed a couple of wines and did some screeching of my own.
I thought I did pretty well to concentrate amongst such chaos though ... it was only the cigarette smoke that bugged me,but not too much.

This is the head of our Bush Giant Dragonfly (Uropetala carvorei) that I've featured a few times before .... and the first reasonable shot I've managed to get with the Raynox DCR 150 macro converter lens that Joe (joey) kindly sent me from England.
I'm sure I'll get betterer with practice.

Hi Steve!

This is first on TN macro of stoned dragonfly! Looks rather tired and dirty, but this is no suprise when you are dead. I like your story, I bet it was very interesting night :-) And say hello to Norm!

Hey Steve, what a shot. Its fascinating, really graps you. love the colours and the sharpness, it also makes it more powerful filling the fram with the subject. You'd be happy with it I'm guessing. Great shot.
