[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken a couple of months ago on a trip around Lake Kaniere.
I just love this sort of location .. cool fresh water, beautiful rainforest and inspiring mountains to top it all off.
The forest is mostly mixed podocarp/beech forest with a sub-canopy of tree ferns and smaller trees such as coprosmas.
I'm not sure of the mountain beyond, but it could be Mt Bryce.
Hope you like it anyway.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve

You have a nice shot here of the scenery at Lake Kaniere and I really like the range of greens you have captured in the trees. The reflection shows what a tranquil spot this is and the constrast of the softness of the trees against the rugged mountains adds to the interest in the image. Well done.
Cheers
Elizabeth

In the wilderness we call this close knit groupings of trees, dog hair. for there it is dry and ready for fire, so doghair is frequently thinned but very selective cutting. The ways of the US are not the same of those in other areas or countries. Here your trees look vibrant, thick and inviting. My father taught me to carry three things. My whistle, my pocket knife and my compass...It looks like I would need all three here...A fine majestic image. Good to see you posting on a more regular basis my good NZ buddy! Keep on and don't forget your videos a well:-)
