[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
With fungi season now over I have turned my attention back to collecting slime moulds while out collecting yesterday I came across many deposits of slug eggs? In the end temptation got the better me and made a collection of these to photograph. They are around 3 mm in diameter and were deposited in the rolled up end of a palm fond (Palm petiole). This also creates a micro habitat for slime mould and is home for spiders, cockroaches, cave wetas, tree wetas, centipedes, springtails and other critters that I do my best to avoid.

A really great picture, Fungiman!

For a fungiman you let yourself distract by other organisms like these eggs. Why not also look the other creatures you find in the rolled up end of a palm fond, like ... :-) . Keep up sending youtr interesting pictures.

Best regards
Dietrich

This is truely an incredable shot and so interesting. I got the family to the computer to have a look. How often do you get to see something like slug eggs. The shot itself is beautiful in all the important ways so thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Hello Clive!

Fantastic picture, very arty and unique. First impression - thesa are 3D models of some bacterias made in really good graphics software :-) Second impression - Chinese lanterns. Anyway - very interesting subject taken in very beautifull way. Agree about wetas - I would rather avoid them, too.

Truly outstanding work.....

Hello Clive and kia ora to you
These slime moulds are very pretty and look like glass balls of light.
3mm - that's tiny - so well done on the capture.
Janice

Aha! I thought I recognised these as slug eggs :)
You've got in nice and close here Clive.
Good exposure showing plenty of texture.
Great macro work.
Cheers
Steve
