Species: M. austrororida

Mycena are small bell shaped saprophytic fungi with white gill and spore’ found usually growing on wood or less common leaf litter’ growng in ether clusters or singly. Mycena austrororida is easily recognised by its light colours and glutinous stipe. The light brown cap fades as this species ages which grow to a height of 40 mm. Commonly seen growing from Tea tree (Leptospermum scoparium) as shown in this photograph but not restricted to this.

Great detail, awesome BG and wonderful composition. All in all a great shot. I particularly like the way the lighting accentuates the delicate textures.

Awesome lighting and exposure with wonderful detail. Lovely composition with the wood on the diagonal and them growing from it, perfect DOF, they stand out beautifully against the dark background.
