[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have featured Cave Creek a number of times in my Trek Nature posts.
It is an example of a limestone stream that has been diverted from one valley into another through a network of limestone caves, and is referred to as a 'captured' stream.
It is one of a number of rivers that cut through deep limestone gorges in the Paparoa National Park of the South Islands West Coast.

Here we can see the stream as it winds its way underneath limestone boulders in the middle of the gorge. It emerges from a large cave not far upstream, and eventually flows into the beautiful Pororari River, and out to sea at Punakaiki.

Hope you like the shot.
Thanks for looking.
Steve

Hy Steve
I passed many, many times near rocks like this, but I never took pictures. The idea is not bad. It is a pity that is so dark, but I know the conditions.
Regards, Oana

Hello Steve, What are those green covered with? Seem to be like fungus? Nice landscape ganesh

Hi Steve.

Very interesting place- wild and natural. Big rocks covered with moss looks great. I made a workshop with some light added. I hope You will like this.

Regards,
Adrian

Hi Steve,
An impressive scene from Cave Creek and its limestone stream. Great DOF created a perfect 3-D effect. Rocks coverd by moss also wonderful my friend!
TFS this fine image.
Cheers,

Bayram

Hello Steve,
When I saw this I was struck by the fine composition and the moss-covered limestone boulders left by the stream. Then, seeing Oana's critique, I thought maybe she had a point, so I tried the WS. What do you think?
I must say I like the deep contrasts in your image, so brightening up the shaded areas is perhaps a matter of taste.
Have a good weekend,
Cheers,
Ivan

Wow, Steve, I love those dark places, where light reaches dimly some parts. This moss is fantastic, the exposure is spot on and even though those are rocks, we feel velvet. Beautiful,

Francine
