[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot was taken from my friends verandah, looking north along the West Coast from just south of Fox River,or Tiromoana.
Woodpecker Bay is where Fox River flows out of the deep limestone gorge that cuts through the plateau of the Paparoa Range.
Tiromoana was once the site of a thriving mining town, with two storey buildings on land which has now been totally reclaimed by the sea.
The town,which was called Brighton,boasted 53 hotels!
Now there are only a handful of houses scattered along the coast road, many of them snuggled into the rainforest.
Being as remote as it is,Woodpecker Bay is not a crowded place. This was taken on a sunny calm day in the summer, and still there are only three or four people in sight.
Off the left of the photo is Seal Island which can be walked to at low tide, and is home to a large colony of Fur Seal.

I hope you like this view of one of my favourite bays here on the West Coast.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,
lovely view of the bay. The lush green vegetation is lovely. The waves are seen hitting the beach. I like the variety ofvegetation in the forest fringe. The palms are pretty there and red flowers in the foreground is very attractive.
What a place to be, how tranquilt to be at your friend's verandah.

Regards,
Foozi
