| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This shot was taken at about 1000 metres asl on the Croesus Track,as it follows the tops of the Paparoa Range between Blackball and Barrytown.
I always find the rocks on high mountain ridges very attractive with all the different species of lichen and moss for decoration.
Unfortunately,on this trip we had cloud cover for pretty much all the ridgetop traverse,so the view around was limited.
The clouds still created their own special atmosphere,so to speak.
I hope you can grasp a little of the feeling of being there in that wonderful fresh air.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers

Hi Steve!
When I look at your picture and the beautiful scenery it shows I have to admit that there are similitudes between your country and mine. I like the simplicity of the picture very much, and I find that the delicate cloudy sky adds to the value of it. I also appreciate the calmness and serenity that emanates from the scenery.
Many thanks and kind regards
Markus
Looks like you have stolen a few of my rocks Steve! Mine however are only at 2300 feet US..Yours are apparently much higher with a better view!

Hi Steve,
I can definitely imagine what it must of felt like to be at this place. I can imagine the crunch under foot of the rocks on the path (which you have captured). In my own wanderings, I have often shared this fascination with the large lichen covered outcroppings. The air, the textures. Well... your picture is worth a thousand words :)
New Zealand is now securely on my life list of places to visit.
TFS man.
