Nice shot, great detail. Could it be a slime mould???

Cheers
Elizabeth

As Elizabeth has mention it is indeed a slime mould the genus is Fuligo. Species is not so easy to name from a photo as it looks to be yellow F. septica is likely. There are a number of others species it could be a microscope is needed to sort out which.

Excellent photo with good exposure

Hello Russell,

An excellent photo with good exposure, and I like that very much. POV, DOF and BG are good. Very nice natural colors. I didnīt know what for kind of fungi this is. But Google give me the answer.
Take a look on this site: http://waynesword.palomar.edu/slime1.htm

Hi Russell,
I missed this when you posted it.
An interesting specimen ... as Clive says,a slime mold (Myxomycetes) rather than a fungi.
Nicely exposed with good detail and well composed.
Great post.
Cheers
Steve
