he looks so disjointed and strange i presume some of the plumage is black as it disapears into the background. still a beautiful image. would have liked to see more reflection it seems cut off.

Hello Chi,

Wonderful frontal shot of this big beautiful Pelican.
Love the contrast between the B&W in the feathers and the wonderful colors on the bill.
Pity the BG is a little dark and therefore the black feathers of the bird don't pop up as much as I wouls like to have seen.
Excellent sharpness and exposure and due to that all feather details, even in the white ones, are beautifully visible.

Hi Chi,
Outstanding shot of this Pelican with immaculate sharpness and lovely colours. Superb light and exposure management and I like this black BG which highlights the subject well. I love the frontal view, and the symmetry that it affords.
Excellent details and colors on that wonderful beak.
There is a lot more black on this Australian pelican than we see on ours.
