My wife and I spent today back down at the Brisbane Port Wetlands, I really wanted to get some more shots of the Brahminy Kite, and hopefully improve my aerial shots.

I’ve spent the last couple of days down there and did see it a couple of times but it never came close enough to get a descent shot.

By 2’Oclock this afternoon I thought it was going to be pretty much the same result, but to my amazement suddenly it appeared above me and just circled for a while as if to say “well come on take the shot then” it was just amazing to see.

I also managed to get some shots of another large Black and White Kite (Eagle) as yet unidentified which I will post in the next couple of days.

Please also see map details for location,(if you happen to be in Brisbane)

Details of the Brahminy Kite can be found on my previous post

Details; Shot Raw and converted to Jpeg, cropped and reduced in size, sharpened slightly for posting.

Hey Rick, your patience has paid off. This Brahminy Kite looks great. The composition with him in the sky like that and looking down to you is perfect. Colour is very good with great sharp detail throughout. Very nice. Are these birds still around in the winter?

Thanks, John

Apropos my critique on your latest bird-in-flight picture, I am happy to see that you have got the eyes of the Kite clearly in this picture.
Other than that, it is a marvellous capture. I like your POV with the sun just behind the bird and giving the wings a very special look.
TFS and regards.
Ram
